The LB19 is a small, versatile nymph built around a slim, compact profile. Tied on a size 16 hook but proportioned to fish more like an 18–18.5, it features a 2.5 mm copper bead for a little extra weight without overpowering the profile of the fly.
It’s an excellent match for the small early black stoneflies we see during the winter months, a food source that can produce some extremely good nymphing when the conditions line up. But the LB19 isn’t limited to winter fishing. Its subtle, suggestive profile allows it to pass for a variety of small nymphs throughout the season, making it a productive option well beyond the early black stonefly window.
