Our nymphing leaders are comprised of low memory leader material supple enough to aide in detecting subtle takes. The leader can be cut to desired length and attached to a fly line or backing. Each leader is equipped with a sighter and tippet ring. Simply tie on the leader to your fly line or backing, reel it up, tie on your tippet and flies and you're ready to fish!
Leaders come in clear 12lb, 10lb super hi-vis green, 10lb hi-vis green, 8lb hi-vis orange, 8lb sight nymphing leader, 6lb green and micro gold .20mm. The 10lb hi-vis and the 10lb super hi-vis are excellent for long line nymphing. The 8lb hi-vis orange works well for long line, Spanish nymphing with larger bugs and is a go to for fall fishing. Our 8lb sight nymphing leader is comprised of clear leader material with a white sighter. This is our stealthiest leader, designed to not spook trout, even when you lay it down on the water! The 6lb system is excellent for beginners or advanced. It's closer to a micro leader than a heavier mono rig. The 6lb mono rig is also a go to leader for us in the fall. The 12lb mono rig system works excellent on the Farmington in the spring and winter. It is also our preferred leader for heavy jigs. Our micro leaders are comprised of high vis gold mono .008in / .20mm in diameter. This is the preferred leader when fishing small flies, #14 or under in normal to low flows on the Farmington. Micro leaders have become increasingly popular on the competitive trout fishing circuit. It's the most forgiving leader and cuts wind and drag well. You should only fish 6x or lighter tippet when deploying this leader. We fish micro leaders thinner than this but we just use one straight diameter piece of leader material. This is why we don’t currently offer anything lighter than the micro gold leader.
